PTA work is done through the committee structure

What types of committees do other PTAs have?

Structure – The PTA elected officers decide the committees needed to support the goals. The elected officers vote the chairman into position to form the Board of Directors.

Standing Committees: the work is year-round. The chairpersons are members of the board of directors and count towards quorum.

Special Committees are formed for a specific task and once its work is accomplished is disbanded. The special committee chair is not a voting member of the board of directors but are welcome to attend board of director meetings.

All committees must submit a Plan of Work and estimate expenses and income generated for the budget.
